Professional appointments: Violin Professor, Brussels Conservatoire (1882-6); Violin Professor, Budapest Conservatory (1886); Director, Budapest Academy (1919-1935).

Chamber ensembles: Quartet, named variously the Budapest Quartet and the Hubay/Popper Quartet, founded 1886, with Viktor Herzfeld, second violin, Bram Eldering,later Gustav Szermy, viola, and David Popper, cello.

Pupils: Eldering, Joseph Szigeti, Adila Fachiri, Jelly d'Arányi, Steffi Geyer, Franz von Vecsey, Sándor Vegh, Zoltán Székely, Jenö Lener, Eugene Ormandy, André Gertler.
