Professional appointments: Second solo violin at the Opéra Comique, Paris (1837); Member of the Société des Concerts du Conservatoire (1834); leader, (1841-63). Teacher at Paris Conservatoire (1855); Professor there, 1860-92.

Chamber ensembles: Quartet with his siblings, from 1839.

Pupils: Maud Powell, Edusrd Nadaud.
